Roz’s Jubilee Jumbles
This cookie recipe was most recently featured at the Simply Sensational Sale in Sylvania. We not only sold tons of great treasures, but also found our jubilee jumbles to be in high demand!
So what’s so special about these cookies? They’re one of my family’s favorite recipes! Hope you enjoy…
Ingredients…
- 1/2 cup soft shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup commercial sour cream
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2-3/4 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 cup moist flaked coconut
The magic…
Mix shortening, sugars, and eggs thoroughly. Stir in sour cream and vanilla.
Sift together flour, soda, and salt; stir in. Mix in nuts and coconut.
Chill dough about an hour.
Brown Buttered Glaze
Melt 1-stick of butter until golden brown. While melting stir until butter foams and begins to turn brown. Careful not to burn the butter!
Blend in 2 cups confectioner’s sugar and 1 tsp vanilla. Stir in 2-4 tbsp hot water until icing spreads smoothly on the cookies
Bake it up!
Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough about 2″ apart onto a parchment greased baked sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when lightly touched by the finger.
Spread cooled cookies with Brown Buttered Glaze.P
